Dark Smokey Eye & Falsies

I posted this look on my Instagram a couple of weeks ago and I got quite a positive response. It was the first proper eye makeup look I had posted so I was a bit nervous about posting it.eyemakeup

I created this look using a combination of Urban Decay and Essence eye shadows, actually, Essence brow powder as eye shadow. I also used a pair of Penneys false eye lashes which I had never used before and I LOVE them. I just think they really tie the whole look together. I didn’t Include any eyeliner in this look which is a first for me since I am obsessed with a good winged liner.

Please excuse the upside down picture, it seemed like a good idea at the time but I soon realised it was not! Thanks for reading! Check out my Instagram for more makeup looks! 🙂

Where have I been?

Ok I have been seriously slacking on this blog and I have recently realised that I really miss it! I was doing well for a couple months in the summer but then I started college and that was it. I just feel like I have been so busy and over Christmas I wanted to post again but I was in no humor for it. I have had a difficult and not so happy couple of months, don’t get me wrong, parts of them have been great but over all, I just don’t feel like myself and I really don’t know why.

Recently I have been feeling better and I just want to start posting again to keep me occupied and since everyone on here seem to be so nice and positive, I figured this was a great way to cheer up! I have a couple of makeup looks I want to share on here and also some bargain makeup finds! I really haven’t been buying too much new makeup recently but I have been using a lot of the stuff that I already have and I’m enjoying it!

I have also noticed that a lot of the blogs I am following have also been inactive so I am looking for some new active blogs to follow so I am open to suggestions. Anyone have any? Maybe even follow for follows? Let me know 🙂 ❤

Mini Essence haul

The other day I had my college registration day and seeing as I have been down in the dumps lately and finally left the house, I decided I would browse all the shops where I would usually buy my makeup and see what they had. I found a huge Essence half price sale in the Supervalu/chemist behind my college. I have been on an Essence craze ever since I discovered the brand and I just can’t seem to get enough of it.

I picked up two long lasting lipsticks in the shades cotton candy and colour crush. I already have three of these lipsticks and I really love them and they only cost me €1.50!  I have recently posted a review on them –here

Neutral Eye & Winged Liner | MOTD

DSCN9534

I wore this look today to go out shopping and run around the town for a bit. I used my Rimmel lasting finish foundation with my real techniques complexion sponge and then set my face with my Maybelline matte maker powder. I then did my eyebrows and I am super happy with how they turned out today. I used my Rimmel eyebrow pencil for along the bottom of my brow and then for the end of it, but not on top. Over this I used my essence eyebrow powder to fill in the rest of the brow and to shape the front.

For my eyes I used my Naked palette. I put buck in the crease and then just used sin for the whole lid. It was simple but I like it for everyday wear. Next I used my Essence liquid eyeliner and my w7 mascara which is new and I’m really liking it! On my lips I just wore Essence lipstick in Coral Calling and for blush I used my Essence blush in babydoll. Thanks for reading!

Essence long lasting lipsticks review & swatches

Lately I have been a bit obsessed with buying and trying cheaper makeup. I have recently fallen in love with Essence makeup so I decided to pick up three lipsticks and give them a go. I got these at the Essence stand in Penny’s.

I am actually surprisingly impressed with these lipsticks, they’re quite smooth and creamy and also have great colour pay off as you can see from the pictures below. I do find that they are a bit slippy to apply and it’s easy to get carried away with them. They do feather a bit but for a €2.99 lipstick, they’re really great. I also really like the packaging of these because they don’t look cheap the way other cheap lipsticks look such as wet n wild.

How I remove my makeup

I have recently changed the way I take off my makeup. I used to just use makeup wipes to take off all of my makeup until I found around my eyes getting irritates and stingy. I now use two products, Garnier Micellar cleansing water and Garnier soothing 2 in 1 makeup remover.

I use both of these with cotton pads. I use the Micellar water all over my face and I love it because it has basically no scent and it’s just water, it doesn’t irritate or bother my skin in any way and it takes off makeup really well. I then use the 2 in 1 makeup remover for my eyes, I do this because it’s suitable for sensitive skin and it’s suitable for face and eyes. I also find it takes eye makeup off better than the Micellar water. Both of these products were quite inexpensive, the micellar water was €6.29 and the other was €3.89

I really do love using these products. They’re so easy to use and they last quite long. I am so happy I discovered them instead of continuing to use makeup wipes, they have made a huge change.  Thanks for reading! 🙂

Dramatic liner & Bold lip | MOTD

DSCN9494

This is the makeup look I wore today. I know my face looks a lot lighter than my chest but that is because the sun has came out this week and I got myself a bit of a tan/burn. The foundation I used was my L’oreal true match and the shade is a bit light for me now but I figured I could just bronze to darken it. I then used my new Maybelline matte maker matifying powder to set my foundation. I used my nyc color wheel bronzer to give my face some colour and slightly contour. I used my favourite blush at the moment, Essence babydoll blush.

I put the shade ‘buck’ from the naked palette through my crease and lined my eyes with Maybelline eye studio gel eyeliner. The mascara I used was Essence I heart crazy volume mascara. For my eyebrows I used my Rimmel eyebrow pencil and then my Essence eyebrow powder over the pencil.

I cant wait to get my room painted so I don’t have that ugly purple colour in the back of my pictures anymore but for now, this is the best I can do! Thank for reading 🙂

Organising my makeup

I have been super unhappy with my makeup organisation for ages now so yesterday I decided I was going to fix it up. I took an old set of drawers that we had in our shed and made dividers for inside each drawer. To make these dividers I measured the width, length and depth of one drawer and cut cardboard to these measurements. This way of making them is super easy but can take some time especially if you use thick cardboard like I did which is hard to cut through.

materials: cardboard, scissors/utility knife, pencil, glue

I then cut notches in these dividers where they cross over each other so that they would slot together. I then covered them in white paper using pritt stick to stick it down. I am quite happy with how these drawers turned out but in the future I would like to get a desk with drawers in it so I won’t have to have anything on top of my desk.

I also don’t have much space left in these drawers and I still have nowhere to put my palettes but I will figure that out a different day, so for now, they will do 🙂 Thanks for reading!

Essence Neutral Eye | MOTD

I created this look using only Essence makeup products, apart from my eyebrows which I used my Rimmel eyebrow pencil for. I used Essence eyeshadows in the shades (party all night, get ready, pop eye, dance all night). I also used essence extreme crazy volume mascara and essence liquid ink waterproof eyeliner 🙂

This is my first makeup of the day post but I want to start doing them regularly so bare with me, I haven’t got the angles right for taking pictures of it yet. Thanks for reading!
